"I could not be happier with Petsafe Wireless Pet Containment System. My girlfriend recently spent $3500 for an invisible fence. I just spent about $380 which covered one unit and three collars and I have had the same or better results!!! My three dogs were trained within two days. I think the three qualities which really set this apart from invisible fences is that it continues to correct until the dog returns to his yard, it is movable, and it is incredibly easy to install (no digging up the yard). We recently adopted a foxhound/yellow labrador mix who is just one year old. He is adorable, but full of energy. He is not a big "wanderer", but a squirrel or rabbit or kid riding a bike was enough to set him on a chase. We also have a two year old rescue collie who really was not a wanderer at all, but when she and the lab got into playing and running, the road was not off limits to either of them. Finally, we have an elderly spaniel/basset hound mix that again wasn't an all-day wanderer, but loved to visit the dog across the street and to harass dog walkers on the road. I wish I had gotten this years ago as I could have saved myself a great deal of aggravation. My husband and my kids had the unit set up and all of the boundary flags set within an hour and a half. By the second day of training, with all dogs collars set at a level four, not one of my dogs dared to go past the flags and we could leave all of them in the yard off-leash. We have almost one acre and our corner lot is relatively flat. This unit gave the dogs our entire back yard, one whole side yard, about half of my front yard and about half of the side yard that faces the road. This is plenty of space to run and play and even includes wooded area where they like to potty. I like that the boundary is several feet from the road, but if we bought another unit, we could easily cover our whole yard. I think we'll stick with just the one unit, as the dogs have plenty of room to romp and play and explore. We figured our lab mix would be the biggest challenge, but by day two he would not follow my son's friend who ran from our yard with a ball. He would not run to greet my son (my dog's favorite of our family) off of the school bus, but waited until my son came into the yard to play with him and all three dogs ignored several people walking their dogs next to our yard. I was astounded how easy this all came about!!! It is a little traumatic to see the pups shocked, but I kept reminding myself of the traumatic scene of seeing a dog hit by a car, when I was a child. I don't think I have ever heard crying so loud in my entire life. My lab is a very busy, sometimes destructive dog that now is so much happier having the full run of a big yard. We have to coax him in at night. The inside of our home is much more peaceful. We are very pleased with this purchase.
